Due to the abundance of water in the area and the particularly cold temperatures in winter, the Wipptal is an ideal place for ice climbing. Andi Orgler, the great ice climbing pioneer from the Stubai valley, has recognized that pretty early. In fact, he has done numerous first climbs on fascinating icefalls in the area. It is especially the Pinnistal (a side valley of the Stubai valley) and the area around Brenner that are famous for their renowned icefalls. For this reason, also mountain guides love to climb there and rejoice at the mere hearing of the names of fascinating icefalls like the “Kerze”, “Eiszeit”, “Vorhang”, “Gully” and “Männer ohne Nerven”. Also in the Valsertal near the Brenner Pass and in the rearmost part of the Stubai Valley (e.g. the Grawa ice climbing area), there are wonderful ice routes that offer many ice climbing possibilities to climbers of all levels. When choosing the destination of the ice climbing tours, the skills and experiences of the single participants will be taken into consideration by the South Tyrolean mountain guide of ProAlpina. In this way, every ice climbing enthusiast will get his/her money’s worth. Accommodation with half board will be booked in the vicinity of the icefalls.

Program
The ice climbing destinations will be chosen by the South Tyrolean mountain guide of ProAlpina in accordance with the participants. Ice conditions and the participants’ ice climbing abilities will be taken into consideration.
