The Bernina Range Ski Touring Traverse (07.04.2016 – 10.04.2016)

For the most part, the mountaineer has to walk on breathtaking glaciated terrain in order to cross the Bernina range. The itinerary chosen by the mountain guide of ProAlpina leads through wide glacier basins and over sharp firn ridges. The wild glacier fissures encountered there are particularly fascinating. Confronted with the enormous blocks of ice that tower up to the left and right striving to keep the balance on inclined planes, we get a chance of imagining the forces at work in this remote place. The climb to the Piz Palü is the highlight of the tour across the Bernina range. In fact, the summit has to be passed over a razor-sharp ridge. It is in the two mountain huts Coaz and Marinelli that the group will enjoy their evenings together with the South Tyrolean mountain guide of ProAlpina.
